About the Author
Chris Colston writes for USA Today Sports Weekly and has been with the paper since 1996. He is also the author of The Hokies Handbook and the autobiography of Virginia Tech football coach Frank Beamer. A native of Roanoke, Virginia, Colston spent 11 years in the Virginia Tech athletics department, where he won two national writing awards. His story on rotisserie baseball was listed in Notable Sports Writing of 1999. He now lives in Herndon, Virginia, with his wife Melanie and their two children.
